What is a vertical platform lift?
Sometimes called a porch lift, wheelchair lift or deck lift, this product is used to give users access to a higher level without having to build a complete lifting shaft. It’s a great option for those who use a wheelchair, power scooter or any other power mobility chair to get around.
There are 4 types of vertical platform lifts: unenclosed, enclosed / hoistway, portable
and inclined.
What types of vertical platform lifts do we offer?
We can install vertical platform lifts either indoor or outdoor. We require a concrete slab if installing outdoors. We can install an inclined platform lift indoor on the stairs. We can either mount it to the wall or on stanchions.
What is the required power for a vertical platform lift?
The DC model which runs on 24v battery required 110v for the battery charger. This model can run even during a power outage. Our AC model requires 110v (alternating current – AC) to function.
What is the mechanism of a vertical platform lift?
Our vertical platform lifts are driven by a direct ACME screw mechanism which lifts you up and down very smoothly and quietly.
What is the advantage to having a vertical platform lift instead of a ramp?
- Ramps take up a lot of space compared to the vertical platform lift which needs only 5’ x 5’ for the concrete slab.
- If in colder climates, when it’s snowing its more complicated to use a ramp because you have to shovel all the way down it and melt the snow.
- A vertical platform lift is almost the same cost as a ramp but offers much, much more!
- You can sell the platform lift when you do not need it anymore, but you cannot sell a ramp.
How much does a vertical platform lift cost?
The price of a vertical platform lift will vary depending on the different selected options.
The one feature that affects pricing the most is the traveling height.


How long does it take to receive a vertical platform lift after its ordered?
After your order is placed, it takes about 2 weeks to ship a standard vertical platform lift fully assembled directly to your door. If your platform lift is customized, it may take a little longer for you to receive.

How much room does a vertical platform lift take up?
The space required depends on the platform dimension and on the configuration you choose. However, a standard 36” x 54” platform will need an approximate space of 4’ x 4.5’.

How long will the batteries last?
With consistent use and proper charging, the batteries will last for several years.
Is there something that will stop the doors from opening if the vertical platform lift is not at the floor?
Yes. There is an elevator door lock mechanism that prevents the door from opening when the vertical platform lift is not at the floor.
Can disabled U.S. Veterans receive assistance from the government towards the purchase of a vertical platform lift?
