Built for Safety. Every detail of our Rubex electric powered stairlift is designed with your safety in mind. We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a fail-safe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor. Read more about AmeriGlide stair lift safety standards.

Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.

Sleek Design Compliments Any Decor. The AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift is available in an attractive almond finish with your choice of vinyl seat color. When not in use, you can easily fold up the padded seat and flip up the footrest and your stair lift only takes up 14 inches of space. It's so compact, other people in your household always have full use of the stairs.

VA care free to veteran. Elderly with average health.

Pros

Tech made my stairs work & Safe.

Cons

Because of an Old handicap I needed this. Arm rests need to be big and flimsy.
Tech tied switch to allow chair to face downward - stairs too narrow to allow normal side way travel. Your tech installer was dedicated, knowledgeable and efficient. I highly recommend him (prior experience with ACORN agent was a big loss!) My only complaint is the two "bumps" near the top of the track. Had similar experience with the ACORN. It is not a problem to me as long as nothing is being damaged or worn out. Is this a track alignment issue?

Cons

Good product. Akward up and down control button, should be on the armrest of the chair, not hanging on a 3 foot cord.

A Pleasant Experience From Start To Finish

A Little About Myself

Pros

Safe, Sturdy

Cons

It started with a very helpful phone call to the Sales Rep. who answered a variety of questions that helped me decide to go with mail order instead of purchasing a stair lift from a local dealer and having it installed. Measuring was simple. The Rep also provided me with a web link to step-by step installation videos. I set up my laptop computer nearby and we referred to the videos several times during installation. A carpenter and his assistant who were refinishing my basement installed the stairlift (they had never done it before) and I was testing it out after a little over 2 hours. The system is very well built with a large seat and should last me for many years, not to mention the ample money I saved by going with Amerglide. The only negative I see is the hand controller, which dangles from the unit via the control cord and must be "reeled in" if dropped. A system for mounting the controller to the armrest is needed. Otherwise, I couldn't be more pleased.

Pros

Cons

Service & Delivery

My chair and rail system arrived very well packaged and in excellent condition. The installer called me within two days and came out on a Sunday morning to install it. He took his time, did it right, and explained all about the chair. He also explained what to do if certain things went wrong and told me whom to call for bigger problems. It does not get any better then that. By the way, the installer drove here through a snow storm from Kansas City to keep his word.
I am 100% plus disabled veteran. I have limited mobility, and the stair glide gives me access to my room and downstairs. Well worth the money.

I purchased the stair lift for my nephew who has Spina Bifida and is confined to a wheelchair. For most of his life, he has slept on a couch in the downstairs living room. Now he has access to an upstairs bedroom and larger bathroom that became available when his sister moved out of the house.
