Built for Safety. Every detail of our Rubex electric powered stairlift is designed with your safety in mind. We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a fail-safe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor. Read more about AmeriGlide stair lift safety standards.

Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.

Sleek Design Compliments Any Decor. The AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift is available in an attractive almond finish with your choice of vinyl seat color. When not in use, you can easily fold up the padded seat and flip up the footrest and your stair lift only takes up 14 inches of space. It's so compact, other people in your household always have full use of the stairs.

Outstanding stairlift for our American Legion Post. It has enabled our handicap members access to our newly remolded basement for events such as wedding parties, graduation parties on so on.

A Little About Myself

Fat ugly old man.

Pros

Easy to install. Simple operation.

Cons

Metal casing under seat was bent. Only able to secure seat with 3 screws.

Service & Delivery

On time delivery. Damage to the metal case under the seat. Don't know if it occured during shipping.
Would recommend electric corded type over battery operated. We got the corded type. Much simpler.

Pros

Love our lift. Made it possible for us to continue living in our two story home.

Cons

Waited to long to buy it. Waited to long to purchase it.

Service & Delivery

I filled out the measurements on the form you sent, watched the installation video, and we installed it ourselves without a hitch. The unit arrived ahead of the expected time. We opened up the boxes, laid out the parts, and began to install the track. We haven't had to have any service on the unit yet.

My wife and I both love it. It was getting hard to get up the stairs for both of us, now we can with ease. Wish we had put it in about three years ago.

Well designed, fairly good directions

A Little About Myself

84 year old professional still working

Pros

Should be 4.5 Stars. Well designed for an amateur to install, works very well for its purpose, tech support very helpful, handy YouTube video helped.

Cons

Directions did not mention how to plug in the seat swivel cutoff and nothing would run until it was connected. I still couldn't make the connection work so I had to bypass it. Also there was no direction what to do with a metal plate that was under the seat but it works fine without it.

Service & Delivery

Very good
It was fun to tackle this.

AmeriGlide Installation

A Little About Myself

Newly retired with unexpected surgeries which limited mobility in climbing stairs

Pros

Only unit I found where the manufacture "supports" self-installation and DOES NOT REQUIRE "Expensive" installation by a local dealer, (e.g. like Acorn). Unit was a tailored fit to our stairs, installed in 3-hours, works like a dream, enabled us to stay in our 2-story home during a 6-month surgical recovery.

Cons

None... works like a dream, price was right, installed in 3-hours.

Service & Delivery

Thanks very much to the excellent assistance from Taylor ******** who took my order and rushed the unit out ASAP... It arrived in a week and was just in time to assist with a 6-month surgical recovery.
AmeriGlide lifts are the BEST... am recommending them to all our relatives, friends and neighbors.
AmeriGlide replies:
Thanks John! Happy to read you did your research on self-installation. Please let Taylor know if you need anything and we wish you a quick and easy recovery.

Cleaming and lubrication

A Little About Myself

Retired Mechanic

Pros

Cons

I've owned my unit now for 30 months and have written twice before regarding my satisfaction with the unit. This note is to say that I have encountered a lot of trouble using lithium grease (recommended in the manual) to lubricate the inside sides of the rails which encounter a lot of horizontal friction from the rollers. Lithium grease tends to dry out quickly and create hard clumps of grease and lint, and it is a mess to clean on a regular basis. On the advice of a friend I tried a spray can of "TRI-FLOW" lubricant which has a Teflon base (PTFE), a common use is for motorcycle chains because it clings to the surfaces and doesn't make a mess. And it takes very little, sprayed on the inside sides of the roller tracks through the small spray tube and spread evenly with a cloth wipe. No clumps of grease and "smooth as a whistle". I suspect other brands of chain lube with PTFE may do as well. "Tri-Flow" is the most expensive, $12 per 6oz can but expect it will last a couple years used monthly. Rule of thumb; too little is better than too much.

A Little About Myself

Pros

So easy to use!!!

Cons

I was a little disappointed with how much of the stair was left, but with the ease of use it was worth it.
From the sales representative to the installer, this company was great to work with.
AmeriGlide replies:
Glad you had a good experience! Everyone seems to love the Rubex.
