The AmeriGlide Rave is an ultra-compact stair lift designed to make restoring accessibility to your multi-level home as convenient and easy as possible! Homeowners with exceptionally narrow stair cases will love the ultra-thin design of this stair lift. The lift unit takes up only slightly more than 11 inches when folded, allowing able-bodied housemates and guests optimal access to the stairs. The AmeriGlide Rave is built for durability, with a tough all-metal case construction that withstands normal wear-and-tear far better than other comparable stair lift brands. The powerful worm-rack system can safely transport up to 350 pounds of user weight, and an adjustable-height padded seat with durable folding arms ensures that you will remain comfortable during transit - the seat measures in at 19 inches wide and 14 inches deep.

The AmeriGlide Rave differs from many of our competitors' stair lift units in that the track attaches to the stairs themselves rather than the wall, and every point of contact uses a single bracket, making installation easier on homeowners and handymen. The Rave is compatible with any standard household power outlet, and the battery that powers the unit charges at the top or bottom of the track, providing a reserve of power that keeps your stair lift going even in the event of a power outage. An arm-mounted operation switch is included as a standard feature, along with AmeriGlide's standard array of safety switches that prevent the lift from operating if an obstruction blocks your path. The seat swivels at the top, away from the steps, so the rider can safely exit or enter the stair lift.

Best of all, the AmeriGlide Rave lifts are assembled in the USA, which means quality you can depend on.

Stair lift users need a unit that is safe, comfortable, reliable, and easy to install. The AmeriGlide Rave satisfies all of your needs. To order, contact our mobility specialists today!

Pros

Good DIY equipment

Cons

Poor quality workmanship on the rails. (Hole drilling not clean)

Service & Delivery

Delivery was good and on time. The instructions left a lot to be desired. Could be easily improved.
Add a couple of quality checks during the manufacturing process.

More mobile, again

A Little About Myself

Developed rare disease at 61 years old and has no strength, stamina or balance to walk/crawl up and down stairs any longer.

Pros

Gives a fairly smooth ride. Comes with 2 remotes. Accommodates my weight plus a basket of dirty clothes!

Cons

Seat only swivels to the left. At the bottom, I have to scoot my butt around to get out on the right side. Rail was mounted just far enough from the wall, leaving very little knee room coming up or down.

Service & Delivery

Delivery was quick. The installer had 2 women meet him at our home. In his haste to get the job done, he mis-connected 2 wires which worked well enough for the demo, but left me stranded at the bottom a few days later when we went to use it. I barely made the climb back up. He came back to trouble shoot a week after that, which is when he found his error.
It enables me to get to and from a place I haven't been to in 2 years.

Pros

Fairly easy install, had done in about 2 to 3 hours. Thought price was realy good. Customer service was extremely helpful.

Cons

Top end screws step to easy. Was able to fix some what. The screw used to tighten track is not working like it should have cut extra pieces of track to try and fix clicking noise

Service & Delivery

Deliveid to my door and self installed.
This was purchased for my wife who has bad knees. With out this chair left she would be able to go upstairs. Also I may need this in the future.

1. Improve written installation instructions and provide install video on ameriglide website 2. Supplement straight stair measuring guide to suggest adding two inches if you have no top or bottom obstructions. This will give more ability to Taylor top and bottom chair heights.
AmeriGlide replies:

Thank you for your helpful review Hobbido! We are looking into incorporating your suggestions right now.

Top notch stairlift but installation could be easily be made easier
Mar 8, 2019 5:03 PM

A Little About Myself

Retired engineer and builder

Pros

Cons

The Rave stairlift operates perfectly once it is installed and adjusted. However getting to that point was made unnecessarily difficult by things that could be easily corrected. The installation manual is poorly written, and in a couple of instances wrong. Photos of unusual items should be included in the parts list. By a process of elimination a knowledgeable assembler can eventually identify “joint pins and joint brackets” or “bottom and top limit cams” but it is inconceivable they would be able to figure out that the “Manual hand crank” is a standard 7mm nut driver. Some figures, like the one at the top of page 7 are simply wrong and do not agree with the instructions in the text, but again a knowledgeable assembler can figure out what is right – but they shouldn’t have to. This stair lift involved a three part rail: 17' 5". The holes and countersinks on one end of the 3' mid rail section had been gang-drilled slightly out of position so that the heads of the flat head bolts connecting the rail to the joint brackets could not be made flush with surface of the rail. The head protruded enough it was impossible to slide the rack into the slots in the rail over the protruding heads. After several dis-assemblies and reassemblies it was found that by assembling the rack side first and letting the flat heads protrude on the screws on the other side it was possible to get the rack in place. Sloppy quality control in the gang drilling cost us a lot of time in the assembly though. The rack came in many pieces; a bag of 6" pieces for example. There were more than enough to fill the 17' 5" rail with one uncut 6" piece and one cut piece left over. The final rack consists of seven individual pieces which gradually compressed enough under use that the 1" compression screw was no longer able to compress the rack. We purchased a 1/4"x20 1 ½” socket head screw to continue compressing the rack stack to take up play and are now down to perhaps two or three remaining unused threads. It would have been far better to have had the rack in only four pieces instead of so many short pieces. The stairlift operates smoothly on the rack we have, but having it in so many pieces has forced frequent tightening, and even replacement, of the compression screw. The bottom line is: the manual needs to be revised, greater care needs to be exercised in gang drilling the screw holes in the middle sections of rail and the rack should not consist of so many short pieces.
AmeriGlide replies:
Gus, please accept our apologies for the issues you encountered with the rail and installation manual. We are working with manufacturing to look into the issue to make sure it does not happen again, as you should not have had 4 pieces of rail and we rarely hear of issues with the installation manual on the Rave model. We will reach out with more information as we look into the issue.
