The AmeriGlide Rave is an ultra-compact stair lift designed to make restoring accessibility to your multi-level home as convenient and easy as possible! Homeowners with exceptionally narrow stair cases will love the ultra-thin design of this stair lift. The lift unit takes up only slightly more than 11 inches when folded, allowing able-bodied housemates and guests optimal access to the stairs. The AmeriGlide Rave is built for durability, with a tough all-metal case construction that withstands normal wear-and-tear far better than other comparable stair lift brands. The powerful worm-rack system can safely transport up to 350 pounds of user weight, and an adjustable-height padded seat with durable folding arms ensures that you will remain comfortable during transit - the seat measures in at 19 inches wide and 14 inches deep.

The AmeriGlide Rave differs from many of our competitors' stair lift units in that the track attaches to the stairs themselves rather than the wall, and every point of contact uses a single bracket, making installation easier on homeowners and handymen. The Rave is compatible with any standard household power outlet, and the battery that powers the unit charges at the top or bottom of the track, providing a reserve of power that keeps your stair lift going even in the event of a power outage. An arm-mounted operation switch is included as a standard feature, along with AmeriGlide's standard array of safety switches that prevent the lift from operating if an obstruction blocks your path. The seat swivels at the top, away from the steps, so the rider can safely exit or enter the stair lift.

Best of all, the AmeriGlide Rave is a product of American ingenuity and workmanship, and every unit is manufactured right here in the United States of America!

Stair lift users need a unit that is safe, comfortable, reliable, and easy to install. The AmeriGlide Rave satisfies all of your needs. To order, contact our mobility specialists today!

A Little About Myself

retired teacher and Air Force

Pros

power

Cons

noisy and takes up a lot of space.

Service & Delivery

were charged the full amount on the day of order but, was not shipped until nearly two weeks later. After delivery it took nearly two more weeks for the installer to send someone who had never installed a stairlift before. Fortunately, the person was experienced in other fields to figure out the steps of installation.
Would hesitate to recommend to others.

Two straight stair lifts vs. one curved lift
May 23, 2016 8:28 PM

A Little About Myself

Retired nit-picker

Pros

Very economical solution for stairway with landing. Lower unit has "flip rail" to minimize intrusion into hallway. Both lifts solved our access to upper bedroom with ease. The design and construction are excellent, high quality.

Cons

None so far.

Service & Delivery

We were told that we would be advised when shipment was mad. However, the stair lifts arrived (7 big boxes) without notice. Fortunately, we were home.
Installation went okay, instructions and You-tube videos were helpful, but the supplemental instructions for the flip rail had a couple of steps out of sequence which made installation more difficult. Need two people to install the drive mechanism, but one person can install the rest. On the "plus" side, the design is such that one can't install parts incorrectly. Well done.

Chair Lift

A Little About Myself

Registered Nurse

Pros

We really like the chair lift. It works well and is slim and you are able to get up and down the stairs easily when not in use.

Cons

I wish the motor was a little more quiet.

Service & Delivery

The person who was our delivery and service man was excellent. The unit came quickly and our service man was very knowledgeable and skillful.
Our sales person kept encouraging us to save some money by installing the chair lift ourselves. We chose not to so as to keep all warranties in place and after seeing our service man install it. I am so glad we did not attempt to do so. It took him to hours to install and it was not an easy job. I would not recommend installing it by yourself.

A Little About Myself

Old dude

Pros

Runs well, quiet, comfortable, space saving and exactly what we needed.

Cons

Terrible instructions. If not for making a phone call to the manufacturer, I'd probably still be trying to figure it out.

Service & Delivery

REALLY fast delivery.
The first comment the factory tech made was, "Oh, you got one with the bad I instructions. If he knows this you'd think someone would fix it.

Cautionary Tale
Apr 23, 2016 3:40 PM

A Little About Myself

Retired Research and Development Engineer

Pros

Once installed, troubleshooting completed and adjusted, works fine. Appears to be a sturdy product.

Cons

Installation manual and video really terrible. Unclear, downright misleading, and even contradictory. Ordinary folks with no technical background should NOT attempt self-installation. Period. End of message.

Service & Delivery

OK
1) Video shows rail sections being easily slid together by hand. My unit had interference fit between pins and mating holes, so took pounding with two-pound hammer to get sections together. 2) Flathead screws that lock sections together are incorrectly countersunk. Some are OK, but some force the head to sit "proud", preventing you from sliding rack sections over the joint. 3) Video shows pedestals easily being snapped into place underneath the rail. No way! Took bending them more open in a vise to allow being snapped in. Then, video shows them being easily slid up or down to correct position so they will mount to stair. Not so. Requires hammer blows to get them to move up or down. 4) Final blow! When mounted on stairs, tried to get unit to move. No go. Alarm kept sounding, freezing motion. It took disassembling the footrest unit, removing the safety switch assembly, diagnosing why the microswitch on one side was being depressed, sending a false signal to the control electronics that the footrest was bumping into an obstruction. It took readjusting the four coil springs that restrain and center the "wobble plates" that push the microswitches on either side. There is no guarantee they will stay that way. Design needs to be improved. 5) Video shows one man easily lifting the drive unit into place and engaging it with the rails and rack. Well, he must have spent lots of time pumping iron. It is actually a two-man job. 6) Installation instructions and video show required antenna being installed in the unit for the remote call. Not so. Design has been changed. Now uses IR LED beams to call. Good, but why not tell the truth? Also show a manual crank for emergency use. No such part delivered. If you have a set of socket wrenches, you may be able to do this operation. Otherwise you're out of luck. 7) But, other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? 8) Bottom line, what had been described as a two-hour job took four days!!! 9) Would I recommend to a friend? ONLY if he is also technically adept, patient, well supplied with tools, strong as an ox, or willing to spring for hiring an experienced professional installer. I'm giving this product a four-star rating based entirely on the way it operates once installed correctly. The installation procedure and documentation gets zero stars.

Very Unobtrusive Look

A Little About Myself

Pros

It took very little time to install and the measurements I had to take to order it were very simple. All in all very easy process. The lift folds up and out of the way and the track is minimal and doesn't obstruct the rest of the stairs. It is easy to operate.

Cons

No apparent cons that I can see at this point.

Pros

Great price, easy to install and works great.

Cons

Service & Delivery

Delivery was quick, however, the boxes were left on my mother's porch with no notice. Fortunately a relative was driving buy and saw it. He brought it into the house for her.
The lift arrived quickly and was just as advertised. Our contractor installed it easily and quickly. It has been a great help to my mother who can once again negotiate the stairs with laundry, etc.. I highly recommend.
