How Much Does a Stair Lift Cost?

A typical straight stair lift costs between $1500-$2500, depending on whether you choose to install the stair lift yourself or pay for installation.

There are 3 elements that go into the final out-of-pocket cost for a stair lift.

  1. Consultation (measuring the staircase).
  2. The stair lift.
  3. Installation.

Most stair lift companies will setup a "free consultation". The purpose of the consultation is to measure the staircase. The final quote will most likely include all three elements lumped together. In the end, most stair lift buyers will pay over $3000 for a straight stair lift.

AmeriGlide prefers to exclude the in-home consultation because most of our customers can either measure the staircase themself, or they know someone that will do it for them. Not having to send a sales person to your door allows us to offer a much lower quote.

In the end, performing your own measurements saves hundreds of dollars. You also will have the option to purchase installation for hundreds less than the companies offering a "free in-home consultation", or install it yourself.

As soon as you have 8 simple measurements of your staircase, give us a call. We'll tell you which stair lift will work for your home, and you can choose our DIY install or professional install. We won't pressure you either way. If you have any questions, we will be glad to help you save at least a few hundred dollars on a stair lift.
