Built for Safety. Every detail of our Rubex electric powered stairlift is designed with your safety in mind. We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a fail-safe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor. Read more about AmeriGlide stair lift safety standards.

Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.

Sleek Design Compliments Any Decor. The AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift is available in an attractive almond finish with your choice of vinyl seat color. When not in use, you can easily fold up the padded seat and flip up the footrest and your stair lift only takes up 14 inches of space. It's so compact, other people in your household always have full use of the stairs.

Our New StairLife

A Little About Myself

Treasurer and officer for the church

Pros

This is a great stair lift especially for the money. We had gotten numerous prices ranging all the way up to $10,000...which is ridiculous. I was surprised to find out how quiet it is. We've only had a very short time but so far a great purchase.

Cons

We also installed a lock out mechanism and we don't like that a key has to be put in all locations...up, down and in the arm of the chair...what's with that?
Follow up from company would have been nice. No one followed up to see if we were happy with our purchase and installation. Plus no one ever seemed real excited when we contacted you and made the purchase. You guys need to work on that a bit. But a great product otherwise!!

A Little About Myself

63 & have arthritic knees

Pros

Love this stairlift..I had a knee injury that would not heal. Dr. recommended I not climb stairs which was impossible in our home. My husband installed by himself. My knees are thankful & so much better.

Cons

Very heavy..really need help to install..but my husband did it by himself. Took a while to install for 1 person...

Service & Delivery

The salesteam was great and [were] very helpful with our questions. We were amazed that it arrived in three days.
This stairlift works great! We love the little green light which lights our hallway and stairwell at night. This product has been worth every penny.

A Little About Myself

Senior fellow, active, care giver

Pros

Solid construction. Easy to operate. Three control devices. Well designed seat & foot rest. Leaves adequate space to use stairs.

Cons

Took 9 hours to self-install. Handling & Installation requires two people. The seat "storage position" is unreliable (seat does not stay up}.

Service & Delivery

Delivery was very quick and ahead of the target delivery date. Service required was phone calls to clarify items during self install.
The product has been used very little to-date and typically will be used infrequently, perhaps once a week

A Little About Myself

Home Repairs / Remodeling

Pros

Final results speak for themselves. My Mom loves the ease of use, the cargo basket, & we can still use the stairs.

Cons

The top main chair & motor lift IS very heavy. It would be great if the controllers were wireless

Service & Delivery

Customer Service & website extremely helpful. Delivery was on time as quoted. Packages were a bit awkward to handle especially the chair box. The delivery man rolled it around like a spare tire.

Measuring, & installation was no problem as long as you have some mechanical skills.

A Little About Myself

Son of the user

Pros

Cost and reliability. It just WORKS and is such a help to my father

Cons

Service & Delivery

I live in Missouri and my father lives in Virginia. The company had a health issue with the installer, but another stepped in and installed the unit. Great service.
The cost for this stairlift is very reasonable given the quality of life improvements to my father. He resides in the basement apartment of a home and needs to come up a full staircase to get in and out of the home.

A Little About Myself

I am a 75 year-old semi-handicapped male. I have had 11 back surgeries and both lungs. operated for lung cancer. I currently have less than 30% of normal breathing capacity.

Pros

I am able to change floor levels without getting worn-out.

Cons

I don't have a lot of room left for people walking up the stairs.

Service & Delivery

Excellent delivery and a great installation as I contacted local people to do this.

Wished I had installed this lift earlier. A great asset in my lifestyle. I have shown this to some local people already, and gave them your name and phone number.

The Electric Powered Stairlift Review
Mar 11, 2011 11:39 AM

A Little About Myself

50-year old son of stairlift user

Pros

Easy to install. Plugs into standard electrical outlet. Easy to operate.

Cons

Battery back-up was not included with the product. Does not have a retractable seat belt. Does not have an adjustable sliding footrest. Seat and foot rest needs to be designed for easy folding when not in use. Magnet for removable switch needs to be stronger or be able to be secured onto either side of the stairlift chair.

Service & Delivery

Delivery was on time and the product was separated into three boxes as described in the video provided online.
The overall product provides the user the ability to be transported up and down stairs with ease and comfort.
