In Stairlifts Simple IS Better!!!

Seat needs to be better

We replaced another brand of stair lift that was less than 2 years old. The transmission failed and it jammed halfway down with my 90 year-old dad on it. We could not get service from the factory and all of their representatives had gone out of business in a 3 state area. The AmeriGlide Stair Lift product is simple, tried and proven technology that I am familiar with from my ATV riding... A rugged winch and no gears or cogs to jam and no circuit boards to fry. What a great product!!!

Pros
Safe, Sturdy
Cons
When my 94 year-old husband fell and hurt his back the stairs in our two story home became a major problem because the bedrooms are on the second floor. This stair lift has completely solved that problem and has also helped me with my many trips up and down doing the laundry and house cleaning. My 90 year-old legs are saying "Why didn't I get one of these years ago."

Pros
Sturdy. Easy to operate. It is not noisy. Easy Storage. Safe.
Cons
None
My mother was not able to go upstairs or downstairs due to knees and back pain. She usually limited to her bedroom on the first floor. But kitchen and living room are at the 2nd floor. Now she can go as often as she wants. Her quality of life is much improved and she is not depressed any more. Her knee doesn't hurt that much any more since she starts to use the stairlift. My brother was able to install this stairlift in 4 hours to the marble stairs given that he doesn't know English at all, just by looking at pictures and video. We are very happy about this purchase and definitely will recommend it to anybody who needs it.

Power lift that works....

Pros
Sturdy, Lightweight, Safe
Cons
The main thing I wish to point out is: Make sure when installing your stairlift that you anchor it down so the brackets do not come loose. This is for safety. Also, make sure you install at the right angle to steps or the chair will not be level even after the adjustment provided is adjusted. (The chair can be adjusted regarding the angle against the angle of the slide by unloosing the 2 bolts/nuts on the side of the housing under the front pf the chair seat) You might check the angle of the chair in relation to the slide against the angle of the steps from a level position, if installed on a porch (front or rear entrance). Finally, if you follow the directions very closely, you will not have any problems and if you do have problems, call the main office in Raleigh, NC. It may become necessary to get further instructions, first hand. Hope this will help any buyer of this chair lift. - FDP, California

The installation instructions were very good. After installation, the upper cam switch was not adjusted properly, causing the unit to be disabled. I mounted the operating switch for the unit under the right arm rest. I did not care for the switch to be loose, sometimes falling down below the seat.

Service & Delivery
The adjustable black plastic stop for the top of the track to automatically stop the chair would loosen itself, so my installer simply drilled a hole and screwed it in place.
I like how quiet it is, and how safe it feels to ride in too.
