Built for Safety. Every detail of our electric powered stairlift is designed with your safety in mind. We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a failsafe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor. Read more about AmeriGlide stair lift safety standards.

Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide electric powered stairlift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.

Sleek Design Compliments Any Decor. The AmeriGlide electric powered stairlift is available in an attractive almond finish with light grey vinyl upholstery. When not in use, you can easily fold up the padded seat and flip up the footrest and your stairlift only takes up 14 inches of space. It's so compact, other people in your household always have full use of the stairs.

Service & Delivery Ordered from my home in Ca. for my 92 year young mother in Pa. Delivery was only four days. I'm 67 and I installed it in 2 1/2 hours with two short breaks. My sister and I went into a medical supply store in Pa. and saw a stair lift in the store and it did not look as good and strong as our AmeriGlide and was over $3600.00 installed. Thanks Darrell for your great customer service.

A Little About Myself Caregiver
Pros Safe, Sturdy
Cons
This stairlift has enabled my husband to sleep in his own bed after being hospitalized for 3 months. That has helped us both get a good nights sleep. It even gives me a better outlook knowing we will not have to give up our two story house as we age. The only issue we had was the chair going too high on the track and then have to crank it down an inch or so. Other than that, there is nothing but positive feedback!

There are some Positives and negetives on buying your product. Because of many miscommunications, I had to install the unit myself. Using one day vacation in the process. ..........On the other side , the unit was very easy to install 4 hrs and it worked fine. My mother in law loves it. Telling an older friend about it. He ordered one (MR. Wharton Dillard.) I also installed it for him. So far he is very pleased. I will keep passing the word. Its an easy install and a nice way to make extra money. Thank you for everything. ....Dan Cordrey (Grace Anselme)

A Little About Myself VA care free to veteran, Average Health, Elderly
Pros Tech made my stairs work, Safe
Cons Old handicap need this, Arm rests need to be big, Flimsy
Tech tied switch to allow chair to face downward - stairs too narrow to allow normal side way travel. Your tech installer was dedicated, knowledgeable and efficient. I highly recommend him (prior experiance with ACORN agent was a big loss!) My only complaint is the two "bumps" near the top of the travel. Had similar experience with the ACORN. It is not a problem to me as long as nothing is being damaged or worn out. Is this a track alignment issue?

A Little About Myself Elderly
Pros Safe, Sturdy
Cons Bulky
It started with a very helpful phone call to the Sales Rep who answered a variety of questions that helped me decide to go with mail order instead of purchasing a stair lift from a local dealer and having it installed. Measuring was simple. T[...]The Rep also provided me with a web link to step-by step installation videos. I set up my laptop computer nearby and we referred to the videos several times during installation. A carpenter and his assistant who were refinishing my basement installed the lift (they had never done it before) and I was testing it out after a little over 2 hours. The system is very well built with a large seat and should last me for many years, not to mention the ample money I saved by going with Amerglide. The only negative I see is the hand controller, which dangles from the unit via the control cord and must be "reeled in" if dropped. A system for mounting the controller to the armrest is needed. Otherwise, I couldn't be more pleased.

A Little About Myself 100 Disabled Veteran
Pros Easy Storage, Sturdy, Lightweight, Safe
Cons
Service & Delivery My chair and rail system arrived very well packaged and in excellet condition. The installer called me within two days and came out on a Sunday morning to install it. He took his time, did it right, and explained all about the chair. He also explained what to do if certain things went wrong do to children pulling on the lift wires, and told me whom to call for bigger problems. It does not get any better then that. By the way, the installer drove here through a snow storm from Kansas City to keep his word.
I am 100% plus disabled veteran. I have limited mobility, and the stair glide gives me axis to my recroom and downstairs. Well worth the money.

Service & Delivery The product was delivered in about a week, was complete and had good installation instructions. I installed so a door at top of stairs would close. Service & Delivery The delivery was very prompt and it arrived in perfect condition.
The installation was very easy to follow and the ride up the stairs is smooth and quiet enough. Here's a suggestion, tho, regarding the 4 mounting cap screws under the seat. The screw driver couldn't be used on the phillips head screws, but a wrench could. Maybe use a hex head cap screw so a wrench may be used.

Pros Safe, Easy install, Sturdy

Service & Delivery Only issue with delivery was we did not receive the correct mounting brackets to properly raise the track at the top to clear the door. This was handled promptly, but still not the right lengths. I ended up putting wood spacers to raise the short ones and it came out looking good.
Installed at my dad's for his use. Works well. Ended up mounting the chair up/down switch to arm rest. Magnet holder is not the best. The stairwell there is very narrow. When riding the handrail is between your legs. I modified the handrail so it hinged up so dad could turn and get in position easier. This installation is for a narrow basement stairwell with a door close at the top.

A Little About Myself Average Health, Spouse had hip surgery
Pros Safe, Sturdy
Cons Poor instructions, Marginal packaging, Box flap open, Loose motor mount bolts
I ordered by phone and received excellent service from representative ([...]) When unit arrived an accessory (basket)was missing. Invoice did not show backorder but a quick phone call solved the problem. Basket arrived in a couple of days stating "back order" status. In the box containing the drive unit I found a loose bolt which turned out to be one of the motor mount bolts, two out of the remaining three were in place but loose.Another box had a loose, open, flap but fortunately nothing fell out.Installation is not difficult for someone with some mechanical savvy. If you are mechanically challenged you should find someone to help you that isn't because you will not get there just by reading the instructions. There were no problems getting the unit running.I do not like the magnet mounted travel switch because the magnet does not hold it in place well - I added some sticky-back foam tape to secure the switch to the arm rest bracket. In operation the call switches have to be held down until the chair arrives, in my case that takes 30 seconds. It would be much better to have switches like elevator call switches: press momentarily and lift arrives and turns switch off. Overall I am satisfied with the unit. I am a retired mechanical engineer and have designed similar products in my past and this one is well designed and well executed - except for the instructions which are pretty lame.

Service & Delivery Our stair lift was delivered in less time than I thought it would be with no shipping damage and all the parts were there. Installation was easy, even for my house. I have an "A" frame house and the stairs are very steep. I didn't think that one of these stair lifts would work on my >45 degree stairs. When I called ameriglide they worked up a drawing and emailed it to me to look at. I compared the drawing to the actual stairway and realized it would work. I ordered the stair lift, installed it, and am very glad I did. Now my wife has the use of the whole house again after not being able to climb the stairs for 4 years. Thank you folks at ameriglide for giving us back our house.

The lift is used to give our son access to our basement. We installed the lift ourselves. The instructions are easy to follow and everything fits together perfectly. When we received the unit there was a puncture in the seat back. I called customer service and they replaced it promptly. No question! Great service and very willing to help. I would highly recommend to anyone needing access to other levels of their home, etc.

[...]Installation instructions excellent.I counted the pieces, and bought three additional track bracket bolts before I found four shipped with the unit box. Page 7 Item 2 lacks clarity - measuring it twice will not correct a sagging track - what should be done? I found that the track did not sag, but I had to do a bit of work at the track joint alignment. The pendant control switch is a weakness - I glued it to the side of the unit, which is much more convenient. Otherwise no problems, and worked perfectly first time. Congratulations on producing an excellent, robust product, well suited to its duty.I will be happy to show it to any potential customers in the west Montreal area.

We replaced another brand of stair lift that was less than 2 years old. The transmission failed and it jammed halfway down with my 90 year old dad on it. We could not get service from the factory and all of their representatives had gone out of business in a 3 state area. Your product is simple, tried and proven technology that I am familiar with from my ATV riding... A rugged winch and no gears or cogs to jam and no circuit boards to fry. What a great product!!!

When my 94 year old husband fell and hurt his back the stairs in our two story home became a major problem because the bedrooms are on the second floor. This lift has completly solved that problem and has also helped me with my many trips up and down doing the laundry and house cleaning. My 90 year old legs are saying Why didnt I get one of these years ago.

My mother was not able to go upstairs or downstairs due to knees and back pain. She usually limited to her bedroom on the first floor. But kitchen and living room are at 2nd floor. Now she can go as often as she wants. Her quality of life is much improved and she is not depressed any more. Her knee doesn't hurt that much any more since she starts to use the stairslift. My brother was able to install this stairlift in 4 hours to the marble stairs given that he doesn't know English at all, just by looking at pictures and video. We are very happy about this purchase and definitely will recommend it to anybody who needs it. [...]

The main thing I wish to point out is: Make sure when installing lift that you anchor it down so the brackets do not come loose. This is for safety. Also, make sure you install at the right angle to steps or the chair will not be level even after the adjustment provided is adjusted. (The chair can be adjusted regarding the angle against the angle of the slide by unloosing the 2 bolts/nuts on the side of the housing under the front pf the chair seat) You might check the angle of the chair in relation to the slide against the angle of the steps from a level position, if installed on a porch (front or rear entrance). Finally, if you follow the directions very closely, you will not have any problems and if you do have problems, call the main office in Raleigh, NC. It may become necessary to get further instructions, first hand. Hope this will help any buyer of this chair lift. FDP, California

The installation instructions were very good. After installation, the upper cam switch was not adjusted properly, causing the unit to be disabled. I mounted the operating switch for the unit under the right arm rest. I did not care for the switch to be loose, sometimes falling down below the seat.

Service & Delivery The adjustable black plastic stop for the top of the track to automatically stop the chair would loosen itself, so my installer simply drilled a hole and screwed it in place.
I like how quiet it is and it feels safe to ride in, too.

This product could not have come at a better time. My mom and dad were having trouble climbing the stairs from the basement to the first floor of their ranch home. Their laundry facilities were in the basement so the choices were to invest in a chair lift or lose a bedroom by hiring a plumber to put the laundry upstairs. The choice was to install the chair lift. We performed the installation ourselves. It wasn't hard, however, it did take about 5 hours. The chair has given my parents their independence they need to accomplish their daily tasks. Thanks so much!

Benefical getting packages to living level. So easy to use that my 3year old grandson has mastered the use of the unit and I feel confident he is safe when he "goes for a ride on granpa's chair." On the negative side, I felt the wiring routes and cabling could have been placed more shielded or conduitized for better protection. I had a minor wiring problem with a pinched and rubbed through abrasion cut on the control cable routed in the tracking channel. Some tape and heatshrink repaired the break to restore operation. A Little About Myself Live second floor, Elderly, Stroke survivor
Pros Safe, Handy pkg carrier, Safe speed, Sturdy
Cons Keys too small, Upholstry tacky
very pleased. feels safe. good speed. footrest folds up to make room on stairs when needed. Relatvely easy upkeep. However, keys far too small for elderly who have problems seeing and handling small objects and fitting them into keyholes. suggest a large thingummy be added to key to make it easier to handle. also, upholstery does not look sturdy enough and in some places looks badly installed.
