|
| Pros |
Reasonably priced, used unit, in fair-to-good condition.
|
| Cons |
Heavy. Installation instructions are confusing in places. The "slack cable" safety device is overly sensitive. Track alignment, cleanliness, and lubrication must be perfect to allow the chair to go downstairs without having the "slack cable" device engage. This then requires an able-person to disengage the "slack cable" device.

Shipment came quickly.

Buy a rack & pinion powered stair lift instead of this cable powered lift! The lift came with three track sections. The links for the middle section were in the wrong end of the track, and the instructions do not explain that there is a left & right side to the track. Thus, I put the track together wrong, and had to reassemble the track after completely installing the lift. I had to call AmeriGlide & the lift manufacturer to get help with the "slack cable" safety device problem.

| Pros |
Works fine after troubleshooting.
|
| Cons |
Seat leveling screws didn't seem right.
|
|
Unit was created for the wrong side of the steps, so I had to change what I originally wanted.

71 year-old, with stroke. My left side is paralyzed and I have a broken left hip.
|
| Pros |
Easy to use. Very reliable. Easy to maintain. I spray lithium grease on sides of track every 6 months. This stair lift is problem free and I have had no problem to date. Chair goes smoothly.
|
| Cons |
Have found none

| Service & Delivery |
Delivered very quickly. The sales team answered all my questions when I called about something, the service was always good and accessible. I had a very good experience with Ameriglide, and would not hesitate to use them again. I did research on rack & pinion, but decided on a cable drive stair lift & I'm glad I did as I feel like I have less of a chance of having a problem with cable.

I was unable to install it & got two people to install it. It took them just over 3 hours to install. The power unit called the chassis has to be carried up stairs & it weighs just over 100 lbs, along with the chair & the track is not light and is put together in one piece. After watching the install video, I did not hesitate to have it installed, but 2 younger men that are handy I'm pretty sure, could install it fairly easy.

| Pros |
Reasonable quality for price. Easy to install.
|
| Cons |
Arrangement on control switch and cord is a bit awkward.
|
| Service & Delivery |
Factory notification of delivery was somewhat slow.

My Internet research prior to purchasing an AmeriGlide stairway lift chair convinced me that I made the right decision. BBB reports, consumer reports and a general comparison of units available were over whelming in favor of the AmeriGlide unit. The unit also received excellent reliability reports which were very important to me. |

| A Little About Myself | |
| Pros |
Installs quickly. Works smoothly. Fair price. Has a seat belt. Fits on a narrow stair way. It goes faster than anticipated much to everyone's pleasant surprise. Not too fast but not so slow, you think it would have been faster to walk.
|
| Cons |
Not really a con, but would like a bit softer seat.
|
| Service & Delivery |
Arrived quickly and the delivery took it right into my carport out of the weather.
|
|
This installed in less than 2 hours. The rails were the right length, and my parents say over and over they don't know how they lived without it.
It has relieved my fears of them going up and down narrow stairs which they both have already fallen down more than once. It's a great peace of mind.

Average person
|
| Pros |
Th stair lift, is what it is. It works good and comes in great shape.
|
| Cons |
Instructions are a little shaky. If I had not opened all the boxes, I would not even found them until I was almost done.
|
| Service & Delivery |
The day it was suppose to come it did, but when I called I was given two completely different shipping dates. It made us a little uneasy, but everything is as it should be.
|
|
No maintenance schedule included. I will look online. I did install it by myself, but I made sure I read the instructions until I fully understood them.
