There is research that shows that by doing something good for someone can give you a boost in your mental and physical health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin are the \u201cfeel good\u201d chemicals released to the brain, aka the warm and fuzzy feelings you get, after doing something nice for someone like giving a gift, walking someone\u2019s dog while they\u2019re sick or even volunteering to babysit your neighbor\u2019s child for the night.\u2028\u2028\u201cWhen we do things for other people, it makes us feel much more engaged and joyful,\u201d says Susan Albers, a psychologist from the Cleveland Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other benefits that are linked to doing something nice for someone include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lower blood pressure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research shows that generosity is good for your heart.
