AmeriGlide is the leading supplier and distributor of home mobility products including wheelchair lifts and stair lifts.
We are very excited to announce the first annual AmeriGlide Achiever Scholarship, which is available to students who use a manual or electric wheelchair and are enrolled at an accredited university. Our goal is to help provide financial assistance for books or other school related supplies to deserving mobility challenged students.
The winner of the scholarship will be announced on March 1, 2009 and will receive $500. The winner's name, picture, and essay will also be published on our website.

Requirements
- Must be enrolled at an accredited two or four year college.
- Must use a manual or electric wheelchair.
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must complete application and submit response to essay question by January 2, 2009
- Must be a legal resident of the United States or hold a valid student visa
Application for Instructions
- Application must be completed no later than January 02, 2009. For mailed applications, they must be post marked by January 2, 2009.
- Essays must be submitted as part of the online application form, have a minimum of 500 words, and be submitted in English.
- You can submit up to two character references from your teacher or any other non-related third party. After you complete the application, you will receive a confirmation email that provides further instructions about submitting your references.
Essay Question
The American with Disabilities Act was established in July of 1990. Does this law do enough to help prevent discrimination and improve the lives of those who are mobility challenged? How has the American with Disabilities Act affected you?
A minimum of 500 words is required and it must be submitted with the application.
