MS Patient with Foot Drop
|
| Pros |
Very Sturdy, low maintenance, A solid ride. Comfy seat.
|
| Cons |
Seat is starting to wobble and I'm not sure why. The Foot rest could be bigger and there could be more distance between the seat and it. My one leg dangles.

| Service & Delivery |
Delivery was fast and in 2 boxes as I recall

I've had this now going on almost 2 years. I was lucky to have very wide steps. I also replaced the existing long power cord with a shorter one so there was no unsightly slack and a flat plug. My electrician put the outlet in at the right spot.

6 flags ride for very large people, not many options for 500 lb people, i screwed on a 2 by 4 by 18' wide to the foot rest so she could really use her feet to hold herself

Stairlift is not designed for narrow stairways. Seat should be designed to position a patient facing across stairs instead of facing downward.

AmeriGlide replies:
Thank you for your response. Our Heavy Duty Stair Lift has a 500 pound capacity. In order to safely lift this amount all the weight must be placed directly over the track. Therefore the seat must face down the track instead of perpendicular to it like our other models. Although looking down the stairs may feel strange to some users, this is a safe position. In addition, the Heavy Duty Stair Lift has a wider seat to better fit larger users. Because of the positioning and the wider seat, this stair lift does take up more room than regular units. If you have any concerns about your safety, please contact us immediately.

The installation of this stair lift was designed to assist my wife with an impossible task of climbing/ascending 25 flights of stairs to our apartment. My wife had become hostage to her inability to get up and down in an effort to simply go to the doctors office, food shopping, or simply enjoy fresh air in our back yard. This product was one half of the cost of the others we researched and found to be quite, reliable and a safe means to continue to enjoy our lives with the freedom we once enjoyed. Thank You AmeriGlide |

The Stair Lift is used to gain access to our American Legion Post. Without it we would not be in compliance with ADA Act, and we would not be able to have our video lottery equipment.
