The AmeriGlide heavy duty stair lift combines maximum strength and durability with unmatched comfort. This heavy duty stair lift, capable of safely lifting up to 500 pounds, has a spacious, contoured seat, accommodating armrests and footrests, and ultra-smooth starts and stops.

The Heavy Duty Stair Lift at a Glance:

  • 500-pound weight capacity
  • 1/3 HP DC motor
  • 110V AC grounded outlet
  • 2-year warranty on drive train and parts
  • Rider faces down the stairs when riding up or down
  • NOTE: Uses 30" of space, so it must be installed on 36" or wider staircases

Designed for Ease of Use. This stairlift features a seat that can swivel up to 180-degrees. This allows the occupant to safely and easily exit the lift, so that they are facing away from the staircase. A smooth and silent ride is provided by special nylon wheels.

Our Most Comfortable Stair lift. With adjustable footrests and armrests, contoured high-backed backrest, and padded 23" x 16" seat, this stair lift offers unmatched comfort. The AmeriGlide heavy duty stairlift is available in a durable powder coat finish and neutral-tone vinyl seat sure to compliment your home's décor.

Your Safety Is Our Goal. This heavy duty stair lift is one of the safest on the market today and we meet all ASME A18.1 safety standards. The motor has instant reversing capabilities and special sensors are built into the footrest to detect obstructions on the staircase. We build automatic limits at each end of the aluminum track, which can run up to 20' in length. Also, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices and a failsafe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position work to ensure you're always protected. Two remote hand-controls are included with this stairlift. These controls can be mounted to the wall or floor and serve as call stations on each landing.

Effortless Installation. Our AmeriGlide heavy duty stair lift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed!

A Little About Myself Athletic, Average Health, Caregiver
Pros Sturdy
Cons Bulky, Unsafe
Stairlift is not designed for narrow stairways. Seat should be designed to position a patient facing across stairs instead of facing downward.
AmeriGlide replies:
Thank you for your response. Our Heavy Duty Stair Lift has a 500 pound capacity. In order to safely lift this amount all the weight must be placed directly over the track. Therefore the seat must face down the track instead of perpendicular to it like our other models. Although looking down the stairs may feel strange to some users, this is a safe position. In addition, the Heavy Duty Stair Lift has a wider seat to better fit larger users. Because of the positioning and the wider seat, this stair lift does take up more room than regular units. If you have any concerns about your safety, please contact us immediately.

A Little About Myself Elderly
Pros Sturdy, Safe
Cons
The installation of this product was designed to assist my wife with an impossible task of climbing/ascending 25 flights of stairs to our apartment. My wife had become hostage to her inability to get up and down in an effort to simply go to the doctors office, food shopping or simply enjoy fresh air in our back yard. This product was one half of the cost of the others we researched and found to be quite, reliable and a safe means to continue to enjoy our lives with the freedom we once enjoyed. Thank You AmeriGlide
