| Pros |
Even though it's "used" it seems to be in "like new" condition.
The battery power option will be essential as we have frequent power outages. My mother in law is delighted and considers the lift to be a good value allowing her to remain in her own home.

There was shipping damage that was not apparent on arrival, I think from a combination of inadequate packing and rough handling by the shipper. Tech support was extremely knowledgeable and helpful but it was still a tedious process getting everything operational. Were it not for this, the installation was pretty straight forward. I advise others to carefully consider all the possibilities before choosing DIY.

I believe that two puny cardboard cartons and a "dusting" of styrofoam are inadequate for shipping a heavy power unit and track. The unit was somehow upended tearing the batteries and wiring loose and knocking the cable off the spool. There was no cover plate (as seen in the video) under the seat and no owner's manual included. I realize that some of these problems are beyond our control but I personally had to pay for the $245 shipping, four phone calls to tech support, and several hours of exasperation and persistence to put things right. I have no idea what would have happened or how long it would have taken if I had been unable to complete the installation.

It was becoming so painful for my mother in law to navigate the few steps to the upstairs of her split level. The new stair lift has aptly solved the problem as she says, "For less than the cost of two weeks in an "assisted living" facility."
