At AmeriGlide, we know how frustrating it can be to live with limitations. We know you want and need access to all rooms in your home—even during power outages. And we designed our battery powered stairlift with you in mind. With maintenance-free batteries that automatically recharge anywhere on the lift, this stairlift provides the ultimate in convenience, reliability and safety.

The Rubex Battery Powered Stair Lift at a Glance:

  • 350-pound weight capacity
  • 24 volt Class 2 grounded controls throughout
  • Works reliably—even during power outages
  • Batteries charge anywhere on the track

Battery Powered for Your Safety and Convenience.Your new stairlift comes with maintenance-free batteries that automatically recharge anywhere on the lift. This unit does not contain circuit boards, which can be delicate, highly sensitive to vibration, and often prone to failure. You'll love how low-maintenance this stairlift is!

Smooth, Whisper-Quiet Ride. With a movable footrest and a deluxe backrest and seat with thicker padding, this stairlift offers unmatched comfort. The footrest can be flipped up to save space and high-tech nylon wheels ensure that the unit will move quietly up the stairs. To improve safety, the seat swivels 180-degrees, so you can exit the stairlift away from the staircase.

Safety Is Our Number-One Priority. Our Rubex Battery Powered Stair Lift includes many safety features. The footrest has built in sensors that can detect objects on the stairs. The seat belt has a locking mechanism and the motor can instantly be reversed if needed. There is also a sensor that only permits the stairlift to be operated when the swivel seat is locked into the correct position. Limits at either end of the track and electrical slack cable safety devices make our Battery Powered Stair Lift one of the safest on the market. It meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for both private and public use. This stair lift is also ETL listed. Included with the stairlift are two call stations that can be mounted on the top and bottom landing. Read more about AmeriGlide safety standards and certifications.

Installation Is a Breeze. Your AmeriGlide Rubex battery powered stairlift is factory prepared for easy self-installation. No special tools or skills are required! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts. Because the track is factory-cut to fit your stairs, it connects directly to your stairtreads—not the wall. That means no unsightly structural work!

Sleek, Compact Design. Since space is at a premium, the seat and footrest of our Rubex Battery Powered Stair Lift can be folded up when not in use. When folded, this stair chair only takes up 14 inches of space, so others will still be able to safely use the stairs if needed. With a very elegant almond finish and a choice of vinyl seat color, this stairlift will compliment any home.

We're here to help! Contact one of our stairlift experts to ask any questions or to find out more about how the battery powered stairlift fits your life.

Easy to install and operate!!!!!

A Little About Myself
Home repair,remodler.
Pros

Easy to install and use for a customer. When AmeriGlide said "It's easy", they know what they are talking about!!! AmeriGlide insists on certain measurements and they are for a good reason, don't forget any of them.

Cons
Installation is easiest with 2 people, Not necessary, but easier.
Service & Delivery
Arrived on time considering, it was ordered during Christmas holidays.
Everything AmeriGlide says is true, I was a little skeptical at first, but after working with the Staff they proved they know their products and all aspects of their product line. I had one minor problem with back of the seat and wall clearance. Simply bent seat back slightly forward, away from wall. Would consider installing in this region, for other people.

Eighty year-old female with arthritis.
Pros
Quiet, smoothe, and reliable.
Cons
Wide, not compact.
Service & Delivery
The service and delivery was flawless - no problems whatsoever.

We were surprisingly pleased with our new stair lift. The price was much cheaper than other manufacturers which made us skeptical, but it works great.

Why we like our stair lift.
May 26, 2011 10:19 AM
A Little About Myself
A somewhat physically enabled 80 and 78 y/o married couple.
Pros

This is a very helpful tool and we are completely satisfied with it. We now have access to our upstairs bedroom wing with no problem. All that is says in the information is completely true, with the exception of one thing, which I will describe in the 'cons' section. I would like to ad that a big plus goes to the sales rep from whom we ordered the stairlift with. He was courteous, truthful and cooperative.

Cons
The installer did not seem confident and we have an annoying bump where the top section of rails meet the rest of the rails because they aren't parallel to the bottom part. I have concern that this will cause damage to the nylon wheels. Also, he did not mention that the remotes could be installed on the wall, instead of just lying around in the way on the floor.
Service & Delivery
Arrival time was perfect. I was not home when delivery came, but it was placed neatly and out of the weather on my front porch. I left it there until Installation came the next day.
Everything great except the installation. Refer to my 'pros' and 'cons'.

Pros
None as of yet.
Cons
Reasonable price. Seems it is well constructed. Simplicity of installation. Warranty better than other leading brands. Lift delivered as promised.
Service & Delivery
Lift delivered as promised.
We installed the lift in our church, with the help of 3 retired men who had limited mechanical experience. It only took them under 3 hours without problems, to install the lift.

Pros
Definitely like the upgraded chair and motor. Worth the extra money.
Cons
None as of yet. I have only had this stair lift for a couple of weeks.
Service & Delivery
Delivery and packaging are great.
The only problem, I have is the clearance between my leg and the opposite wall of the stair case. I have a polio leg that does not bend so it doesn't clear the opposite wall or the height of each step as I go up and down.

A Little About Myself

I am 50 years-old and bought the stair lift for my father.

Pros
Stair lift works great and is easy to use. Since putting it in, my father has not used the stairs at all.
Cons
We self installed the stair lift - directions for putting the second battery into the base were not spelled out.
Service & Delivery
Service was very good - ordering and explaining all the options.
Overall very good product and works as advertised.

I made the perfect purchase!

A Little About Myself

I'm an 83 year old-man just out of the hospital, and I couldn't get to the bathroom without it! Old man out of the hospital, having just had a serious battle with pneumonia. I love my AmeriGlide stairlift.

Pros
Easy to use in a very tight area. Smooth, quiet and reliable. It didn't cost an arm and a leg, either.
Cons
Beats me.
Service & Delivery
Exactly as promised. The installer knew exactly what he was doing. If I was younger, I could of installed it myself to save a few bucks, but still, the whole package works well.
What can I say? I love this stairlift.

Delivery and Service so far is excellednt
So far appears to be reliable. Was concerned at first, about getting on it. I'm wondering how long the nylon rollers and the cable pulley will last, including any other parts.

Pros
Excellent product
Cons
Extra charge for "out-of-town" installer was too high.
Service & Delivery
Never got a call-back, after I commented negatively on the installer travel charge. The installer was outstanding, please send him on all calls.
See Service and Delivery below. I have a Guide to Installing. Is there an "Owner's Guide Book"?

Seventy-two year old retiree.
Pros
This was a seamless painless process. The AmeriGlide people were very helpful. The instructions on ordering and installing were clear and made the whole process easy. The stair lift is an excellent product at a very affordable price.
Cons
None
Service & Delivery
Great service. The lift was ordered on Friday and delivered on Tuesday.
My mother, who is ninety-six,and lives in the old two story family home with my sister, broke her hip eight weeks ago. The family pitched in and bought the stair lift. Two of us installed it in three hours and Mom who is now walking with a walker is able to ride the lift to the second floor and sleep in her own bedroom. PS. All of Mom's visitors have taken a ride on the lift and were very impressed.
