Built for Safety. Every detail of our Rubex electric powered stairlift is designed with your safety in mind. We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a failsafe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor. Read more about AmeriGlide stair lift safety standards.

Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stairlift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.

Sleek Design Compliments Any Decor. The AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stairlift is available in an attractive almond finish with your choice of vinyl seat color. When not in use, you can easily fold up the padded seat and flip up the footrest and your stairlift only takes up 14 inches of space. It's so compact, other people in your household always have full use of the stairs.

Pros
Easy install, Folds compactly against the wall, smooth ride.
Cons
None we have found so far.

I purchased this for my 79 year-old Mother and she just loves it! She has both knees replaced and both shoulders are damaged so walking up and down stairs was difficult at best. My nephew installed this himself and she loves it. A few weeks after the install, she had to have her hot water tank replaced and there was no problem getting it down the steps when she folded the chair up even though her stairwell is a bit narrow. I can't say how much peace of mind I now have for her.

6'8" blond, with blue eyes.
Pros
Overall I had a very good experience with AmeriGlide and it was very easy to install the stair lift with the instructions that they provided.
Cons
Finding good anchors for mounting in the cement. And figuring out the safety switches. It took longer than I thought it would.
Service & Delivery
Very good well marked and everything fit well.
We put it together and installed it ourselves. It went pretty well! Would suggest one piece mounting bracket for correct spacing.

Old and grey.
Pros
Cons
My mother-in-law loves the stairlift. She kept saying, "No, I don't need one yet", but her knees are bad and we knew we would get one eventually. She loves it! It arrived quickly and is really rather simple to install. We had a slight issue because of a door at the top of the stairs, but without the door it would have been really quick and easy. Even with the door it wasn't bad. Love the lift and the service.

The enclosed track can be a challenge to clean.
