Do you have a bathtub in your home that's just not safe to get into and out of now that your mobility is impaired? Do you prefer a sit-down or lay-down tub bath to standing upright in the shower? AmeriGlide can help! Our AmeriGlide Bathtub Walk-In Conversion Kit modifies your existing bath tub to create a walk in tub. Our installers remove a 27-inch section of the front tub wall and replace it with a pebble granite-colored lip, which is easy for even people with bad eyesight to differentiate from the tub shell for safety purposes. The lip reduces the size of the opening to a 24-inch wide gap. On the inside of the tub entry, several magnets are set into the lip to hold a stainless steel door that is made with an automotive-grade rubber seal. The door weighs less than a quart of milk, and all you have to do is hang it from the included pegs located on the tub's interior and let it fall - the magnets attach to the steel and hold the rubber seal in place to prevent leaks. This amazing AmeriGlide Bathtub Walk-In Conversion Kit lets you enjoy the luxury and comfort of a bath without the fall hazards of having to step over a high tub wall. Add an AmeriGlide Bath Lift if you have trouble getting in and out of the tub on your own, and you're all set!
The AmeriGlide Bathtub Walk-In Conversion Kit takes about 2 hours to install, and is usable after 24 hours have passed. Please note that the retail price of this kit includes the cost of installation - currently, we do not offer DIY versions of the AmeriGlide Bathtub Walk-In Conversion Kit, so our installers will need to come to your home to perform the necessary alterations. This conversion kit is compatible with any kind of tub shell - even steel, cast iron, and fiberglass! We can also perform conversions on garden tubs and jacuzzi tubs! NOTE: Installing this kit on a cast-iron tub will incur a $75.00 upcharge.

Excellent product, that is easily installed in a couple of hours. Cost effective and very well received, by both elderly residents and their families for its ease of entering and exiting.

| Pros |
A highly affordable alternative to a full walk in bath tub or a remodeling job that will save you hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars.
|
| Cons |
The alteration tot he tub is permanent, so if you ever decide you want a normal bathtub in the bathroom in the future, you'll need to spring for a new tub shell, which will cost about $200.00.

Bargain-savvy shoppers looking for a walk in tub solution will love this conversion kit. It installs quickly, is usable within a day after the job is finished, and allows for easy step-in access and sealing. Just be sure to check the rubber seal on the dropdown door regularly to prevent leaks.
