We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a failsafe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We own a group home for the elderly, The Spicer Home. I'm very impressed with the service that I received, when I purchased this AmeriGlide Stair Lift. It was great. The guy who installed the stair lift did a wonderful job and was a very nice man. |

Only issue with delivery was we did not receive the correct mounting brackets to properly raise the track at the top to clear the door. This was handled promptly, but still not the right lengths. I ended up putting wood spacers to raise the short ones and it came out looking good.

Installed at my dad's for his use. Works well. Ended up mounting the chair up/down switch to arm rest. Magnet holder is not the best. The stairwell there is very narrow. When riding, the handrail is between your legs. I modified the handrail so it hinged up so dad could turn and get in position easier. This installation is for a narrow basement stairwell with a door close at the top.

Purchasing AmeriGlide's electric powered stair lift is possibly the best internet purchase I've ever made (for my grandmother). Not only was my purchasing experience good, but the quality of the machine, as well as the ease of installation, exceeded my expectations. It works great! I estimate I saved about $2000 by purchasing AmeriGlide's electric powered stair and installing it myself. I am one happy customer. |

The Stairlift is easy to use. The self installation requires a couple of people, and I needed external help. Overall, the product is very useful and has made a lot of difference to the life of my mother as she can go up and down the stairs with ease.

I ordered by phone and received excellent service from representative. When unit arrived an accessory (basket) was missing. Invoice did not show back order but a quick phone call solved the problem. Basket arrived in a couple of days stating "back order" status. In the box containing the drive unit I found a loose bolt which turned out to be one of the motor mount bolts, two out of the remaining three were in place but loose. Another box had a loose, open, flap but fortunately nothing fell out. Installation is not difficult for someone with some mechanical savvy. If you are mechanically challenged you should find someone to help you that isn't because you will not get there just by just reading the instructions. There were no problems getting the unit running. I do not like the magnet mounted travel switch because the magnet does not hold it in place well - I added some sticky-back foam tape to secure the switch to the arm rest bracket. In operation the call switches have to be held down until the chair arrives, in my case that takes 30 seconds. It would be much better to have switches like elevator call switches: press momentarily and lift arrives and turns switch off. Overall I am satisfied with the unit. I am a retired mechanical engineer and have designed similar products in my past and this one is well designed and well executed - except for the instructions which are pretty lame.
