The AmeriGlide Vesta boasts a durable rack and pinion design that delivers smooth, safe transit up and down your stairway and requires minimal maintenance on your part. Backed by industry-leading warranty coverage and designed to meet applicable safety standards for private users in the United States and most public applications*, the AmeriGlide Vesta represents a new generation of stair lifts that will enable mobility-impaired homeowners to continue aging in place and retain their independence in multi-level houses for years to come!

The AmeriGlide Vesta at a Glance:

  • An impressive 300-pound weight capacity to safely convey users of nearly any size
  • Adjustable arms let you set the clearance width from 18 to 21 inches
  • Durable, low-maintenance rack and pinion drive system
  • 0.5 horsepower, 24-volt DC motor
  • Batteries charge anywhere along the track
  • Works with any grounded 110-volt standard household AC power outlet
  • 10-year warranty on the drive train
  • 5-year warranty on all component parts of the stair lift (excludes battery)
  • Optional Flip-Up Rail in case you have a door at the bottom of your stairs.

A Smooth, Safe Ride - Every Time You Use It. The AmeriGlide Vesta's rack and pinion drive system delivers reliable, unobtrusive transit up and down your stairs, and the shock-absorbent seat assembly and back rest are comfortably padded. The constant-pressure rocker switch that operates the Vesta stair lift must be depressed for a full three seconds before the unit moves, giving you plenty of time to steady yourself and preventing rocky, jarring starts and stops. The swiveling seat and armrests on the Vesta also flip up for easy transfer into the stair lift chair from a wheelchair or scooter.

Battery Powered Drive System Ensures Safe, Secure Operation. The AmeriGlide Vesta is powered by a rechargeable DC battery which draws power constantly as it moves along the stair lift's track. The battery keeps an energy reserve that allows the Vesta stair lift to continue operating for a limited number of trips even in the event of a power outage, ensuring that you can get to a safe location if you need to leave your home in an emergency situation. The lower voltage of the DC battery also reduces the likelihood of an electrical hazard. Depending on frequency of use, the DC battery will need to be replaced every 1 to 2 years.

Minimal Maintenance Is Required. In your owner's manual, you'll find a handy schedule of maintenance that will guide you through the necessary steps for keeping your AmeriGlide Vesta running smoothly and safely for years to come. The most labor-intensive duty required is lubricating the rack and rollers - that's pretty much it! If you experience any other problems, our technicians can assist you personally - just contact us directly and we'll arrange for a maintenance professional to come to your home (this may incur a service charge, but all component parts except for the battery are covered for 5 years, and your drive train is warrantied against defects for 10 years!).

Designed With Your Safety In Mind. Multiple failsafes built into the AmeriGlide Vesta stair lift ensure that the unit is safe for both you and your housemates, pets, and visitors. The Vesta will not operate unless the seat is locked in the side-facing transit position (parallel to the wall). The unit will operate without the seat belt being fastened, but we strongly suggest that you never operate the Vesta or any other stair lift without using a safety belt. Upper and lower limit switches ensure that the Vesta comes to a safe, full stop at the top and bottom of the stairway, and sensors in the footrest and carriage automatically stop the stair lift if an obstruction is detected, allowing you to back up and clear the Vesta's path of transit. You can also fold up the seat when not using the Vesta, and the unit will only take up 14 inches of space on the stairway, allowing foot traffic to bypass the unit without tripping over components or having to squeeze by it.

Good product, poor installation instructions

A Little About Myself
Family member of lift user and lift installer
Pros
Seems to be a good product.
Cons
Installation instructions did not match the product we were shipped.
Service & Delivery
Acceptable.
Last week I installed a Ameriglide Versa lift at the home of my aunt and uncle. Installation took three days, largely due to instructions that did not match the product shipped. THe written instructions included in the package did not match the product shipped and the instruction I found on YouTube matched neither the product shipped nor the written instructions. A call to customer service got the issue figured out and the lift was installed. Once lift was installed it worked for several trips before becoming stuck at the top of the track. My aunt and uncle spent hours on the telephone with the service department who were unable to help get the motor un-stuck. I was able to get the motor moving and discovered that the problem was one of the limit cams installed in the top bus bar had come loose and had become stuck against one of the limit switches on the back of the motor housing. Fortunately, I was able to remove the housing from the tack and reinstall the limit cam properly. The lift now works well and will hopefully provide years of trouble free use.

Pros
The measuring and ordering process was easy and the salesperson was knowledgeable and helpful. The product arrived when they said it would. Once installed, the Vesta stair lift gets my parent up and down the stairs. At the end of the day that's what I need it to do.
Cons
The Vesta stair lift was delivered on time, but had the wrong instruction manual (an old version) with bad directions. It had defective parts and was missing some parts and was very difficult to install. The product eventually worked, but the ride is bumpy.
Service & Delivery
Ordering and delivery were great! The product and support were not so great.
The Vesta stair lift was delivered on time, but had the wrong instruction manual (an old version) with bad directions. I ended up having to install the product, remove it, and reinstall it - leaving extra drill holes in my stairs. Some of the product's safety features didn't work, and they never responded to my follow-up questions. Once they have your money, they disappear. The price was low, so I guess you get what you pay for. I probably would have been better off buying from another company to avoid the hassle. If you buy from Ameriglide, PLEASE double-check the instruction manual you receive with the one posted on their website and expect some missing parts. I would have saved myself a very frustrating day if I had known that the instructions came in different versions! The stair lift arrived with several problems. One drill hole for a safety stop was the wrong diameter and in the wrong location and the other safety stop was missing altogether. The factory people probably weren't careful when they prepared the track. I did what I could with my drill to fix the problems so that at least the product would run. There were some other small problems like missing screws, so I went to the hardware store to get what I needed. Installation was very difficult because some of the parts (e.g. the charging strips and the stops) are very hard to reach or assemble. Expect some scraped hands and fingers. When it was finally installed (and I repaired the extra drill holes in my stairs), the stair lift worked pretty well... The only complaint about the ride is that it is bumpy, as if the chair is riding on a rough or uneven track. I gave it two stars instead of one because it does move the chair up and down the track and in that respect it works ok.

What a relief !!

Pros
Ease of installation and all the safety features. My Son-in-Law helped me with the installation which I though went well. We did have to call tech support to to clear up a couple of items. They were well informed and courteous.
Cons
Haven't found any. My wife is just enjoying her new freedom.
Service & Delivery
My AmeriGlide Vesta arrived on time and in good shape.
What a relief for my wife to be able to go up and down the stairs without me walking behind going up, and in front of her going down. She is vision impaired and can not judge how far the next step will be. Without depth perception, there was always a danger of her falling.

Pros
Execellent product, easy to install with a very good instruction video and manual.
Cons
none at this time
Service & Delivery
Excellent, I had a couple installation issues and their customer service department went above and beyond to resolve the problem.
A great addition to our home. We had put off installing a stair lift because of cost and other manufacturers voiding their warranty for self installation (I am pretty paticular and wanted to install the lift myself). Not only did AmeriGlide encourage self-installation their Vesta lift was priced considerably less than the other units we looked at with no appreciable difference in quality. Over all a very good investment and what a convenience for my wife.

Pros
Uses very little stair space. Modern lift with many features. Easy to install. $1500 less than Acorn similar model.
Cons
None as of yet
Service & Delivery
When placed order I asked to have power switch moved to left side arm rest rather than standard right side as my mother can only use her left arm, Ameriglide contacted manufacture and had done before shipping. Recieved in about 2 days. Excellent CS. Very Happy.
Self installed, included DVD and manual very easy to follow. Modern state of the art lift. My parents love it and will get another to access lower level. When placed order I asked to have power switch moved to left side arm rest rather than standard right side as my mother can only use her left arm, Ameriglide contacted manufacture and had done before shipping. Recieved in about 2 days. Excellent CS. Very Happy.

Those customers at our Raleigh location that have been fortunate enough to get a sneak peak of the Vesta have all commented on the elegant, contemporary design and the slim profile. All of us here at AmeriGlide are truly excited about the Vesta. It is like no other stair lift on the market and is already becoming our most requested model.
